The soil consists of fossil Sant’Agata marls alternated with layers of light-colored Astian sands, with a high presence of microelements such as calcium and magnesium. After the harvest, the grapes are vinified into red wine through alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks with 10-12 days of skin maceration. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in steel, and the wine is subsequently transferred to\u003cstrong\u003e large oak barrels\u003c\/strong\u003e for aging for 12 months, followed by at least another 6 months of bottle refinement before final release to the market.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe color of the ‘Montemareto’ Nizza from Michele Chiarlo is intense ruby red with consistent violet reflections.
