Franciacorta Rosé Brut is one of Antica Fratta's most interesting labels, which, thanks to a majority proportion of Pinot Noir, offers a Metodo Classico with a good structure, personality, intensity and richness. The estate is located near Monticelli Brusati, in one of the historically most vocated areas of Franciacorta. The cool climate and the presence of soils with a good percentage of limestone are, in fact, very suitable for viticulture and in particular for the classic varieties of international sparkling wines.
Antica Fratta's Rosé Brut is a Franciacorta made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown in the estate's vineyards in the hilly area of Monticelli Brusati, on morainic limestone-clay soils. Harvesting takes place between mid-August and the beginning of September, with ripe grapes being picked but still able to preserve the necessary freshness, indispensable for making excellent sparkling wine bases. The two grape varieties are vinified separately, with a soft pressing of the bunches and in the case of the Pinot Noir, with brief contact on the skins to extract aromas and colour. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After a brief period of ageing in the tank, the base wines of the vintage are blended and the second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico with a rest on the lees for at least 36 months.
Antica Fratta's Franciacorta Rosé Brut sparkling wine is made in a classic style and highlights the quality of the grapes and in particular the unmistakable personality of Pinot Noir. In the glass it has a luminous soft pink colour with brilliant reflections, enlivened by a continuous, subtle and delicate perlage. The bouquet is refined, with aromas of red berries, raspberry, morello cherry, pomegranate, pleasant citrus fragrances of pink grapefruit and floral nuances of iris and peony. On the palate it has a good structure, with a fine aromatic facet, an intense and creamy mouthfeel that flows into a savoury, fresh finish with good taste persistence. It is a Franciacorta with a gastronomic vocation, ideal to enjoy with a platter of tasty cured meats, with first courses with shellfish, noble poultry on the spit or white meats.
