Pinot Grigio 'Grigio in Grigio' Bressan 2017

Pinot Grigio "Grigio in Grigio," proposed by the Friuli winery Bressan, is a very interesting version of this French grape variety, which is now experiencing a period of great international success, especially in the U.S. market. A careful winemaking process gives the wine an intense and bright colour with great chromatic appeal and an uncommon richness and aromatic complexity. Its fruity richness underscores its natural gastronomic avocation. It is ideal for enjoying with a board of local cured meats, white meats, or particularly tasty baked fish.

"Grigio in Grigio" is a Pinot made by a historical reality of the Friulian lands. The Bressan winery owns an estate of about 20 hectares, characterized by soils of alluvial character, mainly originating from the deposits of the Isonzo river. The Pinot Grigio vineyards are located in Corona, in the hamlet of the municipality of Mariano del Friuli. The vines enjoy a splendid south-facing exposure and are cultivated on soils rich in the skeleton, with little organic matter and many mineral components. Harvesting is done manually when the grapes are fully ripe, and after destemming, a soft pressing with brief skin contact is carried out. The must is coldly decanted and then vinified with temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine is aged for a period of 12-15 months in stainless steel tanks.

Bressan's Pinot Grigio wine "Grigio in Grigio" is made to distinguish itself from the many versions on the market and propose a label produced in an artisanal way, according to the oldest customs of the territory. In the glass it has a beautiful and luminous straw yellow color, with delicately auburn reflections. The bouquet is intense and rich, with aromas of ripe white fruit, floral nuances, hints of fresh almond and slight spicy hints. The sip is ample and satisfying, with lingering aromas accompanying a harmonious finish with a great balance of flavour.
