Rum 'Finish Collection Napoleon' Abuelo

Aging for Abuelo is one of the most important secrets behind products with personality and character. This philosophy is felt even more with this Finish Collection Napoleon, a blend of several 14-year aged Rums that, once brought together, are aged for 12 more months in barrels that previously contained Cognac. A total maturation of 15 years therefore, giving birth to a warm and intense distillate, in which every sip is accompanied by deep aromas, reminding us how Abuelo is a master in handling blends and aging.

Abuelo makes this Rum Finish Collection Napoleon from sugar cane grown in fields not far from the distillery. Here, farming families affiliated with Abuelo, during the "zafra" period, between January and February, begin harvesting the cane, from which molasses is obtained, an ingredient that is then placed to ferment. They then proceed with the actual distillation phase, implemented thanks to four column stills. At the end of this process, the resulting Rum is blended with other Rums aged for an average of 14 years, and the new blend is then placed to rest an additional year in French oak barrels that contained Cognac.

Rum Finish Collection Napoleon reveals itself to the eye with an intense color, reminiscent of amber tones. The olfactory spectrum that develops on the nose is broad and sumptuous, with notes that veer from dried fruit toward nuances that bring back sweet spices and more woody aromas. On the palate it has excellent structure, harmonious, with a warm thanks to the alcoholic degree; it ends with a very persistent finish.
