The Vermentino Colli di Luni Superiore by Ottaviano Lambruschi is a white wine intense, sunny, and Mediterranean, which well expresses the potential of the splendid territory of Colli di Luni for the production of this variety. The small hilly area, located inland between La Spezia and Massa Carrara, right on the border between Liguria and Tuscany, is particularly suited for the cultivation of white grape varieties, thanks to its beautiful geographical position between the Apennines and the sea. The vineyards can enjoy a mild Mediterranean climate, always breezy, with the mountains protecting them from the cold north-east winds and the breezes from the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea mitigating the temperatures: a perfect habitat for a typically maritime grape variety like Vermentino.

This Vermentino Superiore is a wine of particular value, coming from grapes cultivated in the namesake cru of the Ottaviano Lambruschi estate. The vineyards are located in Castelnuovo Magra, in the province of La Spezia, in a hilly area at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level. After the harvest, which usually takes place at the end of September, the the best bunches are selected and chosen to be subjected to a soft pressing. The free-run must is fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 20/22 °C and the wine then ages, still in steel, for about 6 months at a temperature of 18 °C, before being bottled.

The Vermentino Superiore Colli di Luni by Ottaviano Lambruschi is a white wine that captivates with its intense and refined aroma, its taste balance, and its ability to narrate in a sip the splendid land of Colli di Luni. A traditional wine that well expresses the varietal characteristics of Vermentino, especially highlighting its more elegant and fine aspects. It has a rather intense straw yellow color. On the nose, it expresses aromas of citrus, yellow fruit, tropical hints, nuances of candied lemon peel, balsamic notes, and herbs from the Mediterranean scrub. The sip is intense and satisfying, with rich and ripe fruit, well balanced by a proper freshness. The finish closes with pleasant iodized and briny notes.
